Time to Party!!

On our scouting trip we only looked at two reception sites, but we had a very strong feeling before we even went that Maggiano's would be our reception site. When we viewed the rooms we immediately fell in love with the dark wood, balcony view and the bar. The bar reminded us of an old time bar - it was big and all wood, off to the side right in the middle of the rooms we will hold the reception. Such a classic feel to the reception.

Maggiano's is located in the Fashion Show mall at the north end of the strip, above Strip burger. Guests will enter through the front of the restaurant and the bride & groom will enter through the back entrance (elevator up from the parking garage) so we can make our grand entrance.

At this point, communication has been so easy with Cassy and we have heard nothing but good things about her. The only downside is that the banquet facilities do not have their own private bathroom, so guests will be trekking it to the other side of the restaurant. However, I have not heard anyone on the Knot even mention this, so I assumme it did not bother any of their guests.

We have put a deposit down on the Calabria & DiCarlo rooms. We will be inviting 81 guests and the combined rooms hold a maximum of 70 with the dance floor. We are hoping that if we receive more RSVP's than we project (we figured a +1 for everyone that will not necessarily bring a +1), we will be able to also rent the Abruzzi room if needed. We will see - we don't want to reserve the abruzzi room (additional 40 ppl) for just 10 more people. You can gamble in Vegas, right??

The space in the picture to the left is where Maggiano's will roll up the carpet to reveal the dance floor.
